The Education Consultant Role: 
Tutor Doctor Indy is currently seeking an Education Consultant (EC) to join our team. The EC is the external face of the business and the first person a family will meet when they inquire about tutoring services. The EC plays a critical role in providing in-depth knowledge on the Tutor Doctor process and providing recommendations for in-home tutoring support. This role is an Independent Contractor (IC) position that will be responsible for Indianapolis and the surrounding counties and will help grow Tutor Doctor Indy's footprint by selling customized tutoring solutions based on inquiries received from interested families/individuals seeking tutoring services. There is absolutely no cold calling for this role! The EC role is very flexible and something that can be done in addition to a full-time job or can be for those that are looking for part-time work. You can expect to work between 5-20 hours per week depending on the season and typically during the evenings and/or weekends. 

The Education Consultant is someone who:
  • Has three (3) days during the week (Monday-Friday) where they are available for a four-hour block of time and must have one (1) day during the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) where they are available for a six-hour block of time 
  • Is knowledgeable about the education system and learning styles
  • Has experience in a sales role or the desire to learn the prescribed sales methodology necessary for selling in-home tutoring services
  • Provides exceptional customer services
  • Is extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Is flexible- must be able to adjust schedule as necessary with changing needs 
  • Has excellent people skills- must have the ability to connect with different types of individuals and personalities 
  • Possesses stellar communication skills- must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently both with families and internal Tutor Doctor staff 
  • Is empathetic and cares for students and families
  • Has key traits such as integrity, dependability and credibility
  • Has a driver's license and reliable transportation
Though not required, the below are additional nice-to-have aspects for the Education Consultant role:
  • Background in education preferred
  • Teaching and/or counseling experience
  • Prior sales experience 
Responsibilities:
  • Follow-up with leads generated from phone calls, chat services, emails, referrals, etc.; schedule consultations within an appropriate time period
  • Conduct client consultations using the C.A.R.E system to connect, assess, recommend and enroll new clients; follow-up with families as necessary to encourage Tutor Doctor services
  • Effectively utilize Tutor Doctor systems, including but not limited to Scorpion and Big Apple; utilize appropriate systems to complete consultation notes, client profiles, enrollment forms, and payment recording; ensure accuracy and efficiency in the data entered
  • Work closely with Tutor Experience Manager to help match clients and tutor roster
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Consistently represent the Tutor Doctor brand in a professional manner. 
Important Notes: Training and on-going coaching will be provided. The Education Consultant role is a contract position (Form 1099) that will have an hourly rate plus performance-based commission structure.
